Asuntos Pendientes (Spanish for "Pending Matters") is a lightweight, distraction-free desktop application that applies one of the most proven time-management methods: the A–E prioritization framework formulated by Alan Lakein in his classic book How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life.

The idea is simple: not every pending task carries the same weight. Assigning each one a priority letter—from A (urgent and critical) to E (can wait or be eliminated)—organizes the day and frees the mind from unnecessary noise.

How to install

Mac

  1. Click "Download for Mac".
  2. Google Drive will open a preview. Click the download icon (↓) at the top right.
  3. Once downloaded, open the .dmg file and drag Asuntos Pendientes into the Applications folder.
  4. The first time you open it, macOS will verify the signature and notarization (this may take a few seconds).
  5. Done. Open Asuntos Pendientes from Launchpad or from the Applications folder.

Windows

  1. Click "Download for Windows".
  2. Google Drive will open a preview. Click the download icon (↓) at the top right.
  3. Once downloaded, run the installer.
  4. If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
  5. Done. Open Asuntos Pendientes from the Start menu.

About the author of the method

Alan Lakein (1929–2009) was a pioneering American consultant in personal time management. His book How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life (1973) sold millions of copies and popularized the A–B–C prioritization system, later extended to A–E. The question he left as his legacy—"What is the best use of my time right now?"—remains, for many executives, the hardest and most useful question of the day.
